STATE BOARD OF ED DENIES ENGLEWOOD’S APPLICATION FOR EMERGENT RELIEF (5/5/05)
The State Board of Education denied the application of the Englewood Board of Education for emergent relief seeking $6 million in additional funding for 2005-06 for its desegregation program, but directed that “the “Commissioner immediately take such measures as are necessary to establish a budget for the Englewood Board for the 2005-06 school year that conforms with all legal requirements and provides adequate fiscal support to enable the Board to continue to provide the programs approved by the Department that are aimed at correcting racial imbalance at Dwight Morrow [High School.]” Read the Decision.
NJDOE RELEASES “FINAL” 2004 NCLB AYP DATA (5/23/05)
The New Jersey Department of Education announced that the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) status of 37 schools in New Jersey has changed because of final 2004 No Child Left Behind Act calculations and the resolution of appeals by some schools. Read more
